Urban Villa 2
Architecture and Interior design
A house in a typical urban setting is asking not to compete with its surrounding.
In fact it is trying to be invisible.
It is trying to hold all of its function within itself.
Neither does it want to interact, nor does it want to intrude.
This resulted in an introverted form.
A roof that is curved to create a shade, a cover, a shell.
The verticals of solid and glass terminate at these concrete shells at different levels.
Just like a tortoise shell this house too offers controlled privacy to its Residential.
A simple grid layout where each space has ample light and ventilation.
But when the sun goes down each fold of the surface is either highlighted or subdued to accentuate the textures offered by different materials installed on it.
Often ,a light fitting off the shelf isn’t enough, hence several custom made lights are designed specifically for each surface.
